- A Candlelight Tour of the Schuyler House will be held Saturday, Oct 16, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Schuyler House, Schuylerville, NY. The tour is sponsored by Old Saratoga Historical Association. Costumed guides will lead a tour of General Schuyler’s home by candlelight. For more information, call (518) 664-9821 ext. 224
- Brookside Museum is hosting Native New York Family Day on Sunday, October 17 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. “Learn about the Native Americans of the northeastern woodland and try your hand at a Native craft.” Activities will include Native stories, crafts, games and more. Fee: $2.00/person; $5.00/family with additional supply fees for the workshops.
- The New York State Museum is hosting a free multidisciplinary symposium on the history of ironworking in New York entitled “Iron in New York” October 16 and 17 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Presentations will be given by archaeologists, historians, geologists and historical blacksmiths.
- The 77th Annual Meeting of the Eastern States Archaeological Federation hosted by the Archeological Society of Virginia will be held October 28-31, 2010 at the Clarion Hotel Historic District in Williamsburg, Virginia. Special events include tours of tours of Jamestown and Chippokes Plantation State Park.
