Mabee Farm to hold Early Technologies Day August 6th

Hello to all – I just want to make you aware of our 9th Annual Early Technologies Day taking place on August 6th from 10 am – 4 pm at the Mabee Farm Historic Site in Rotterdam Junction, NY (just outside of Schenectady). Co-sponsoring the event: The Native American Institute of the Hudson River Valley, who put on a wonderful yearly seminar every April in Albany. Barry Keegan and friends will be flint knapping and atlatl’ throwing.  There will be tanning demos, fire starting, canoe making, primitive weaving, basket weaving and colonial artisans, a native artifact display and native crafts for the kids + more.  Also, the Van Epps Hartley Chapter of the NYS Archaeology Association will be identifying your Native artifacts.

The Mabee Farm is located at 1080 Main St (Route 5S), Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150
