Hello Winter Solstice

Send to KindleThis morning gray skies shrouded dawn in the upper Hudson region, bringing two inches of snow for the first day of winter. Today’s photo, however, was shot December 20 at about 8:30 AM and shows what the solstice sunrise would have looked like without December 21’s thick clouds. The picture was taken during an archaeological survey in a forest in the Town of Ballston, Saratoga County, New York.
Goodbye to 2012, goodbye to Mayan calendar predictions– Enjoy a wonderful December holiday!
